The BD Vacutainer® Barricor™ 4.5ml Lithium Heparin Blood Collection Tube is designed for the collection and preparation of blood specimens where plasma is required for laboratory analysis. Part of the BD Vacutainer® blood collection range, the tube combines a lithium heparin additive with BD Barricor™ mechanical separator technology.

Each tube has a 4.5ml draw volume and measures 13mm x 100mm, providing a standard format for use within compatible blood collection and laboratory workflows. The lithium heparin additive supports the preparation of plasma samples following collection and centrifugation.

A key feature of the BD Barricor™ tube is its mechanical separator technology. Rather than relying on a traditional gel separator, the Barricor™ system incorporates a mechanical barrier designed to separate plasma from the cellular components of the blood specimen during centrifugation.
