Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an enteral syringe and a standard syringe?
▼
Enteral syringes are specially designed for delivering nutrition or medication via feeding tubes. Unlike standard syringes, they do not fit intravenous lines, which reduces the risk of misconnections. Our enteral syringes are equipped with the mandatory ENFit connector (a male connector), which is designed to connect exclusively to the female ENFit port on a feeding tube.
Are these enteral syringes reusable or designed for single-use?
▼
All of the enteral syringes we supply are sterile and intended for single-patient, single-use only to maintain maximum hygiene standards and prevent infection. We offer various pack sizes (packs of 10, 20, 50, 100) to ensure you have a cost-effective and continuous supply of clean feeding syringes.
Which feeding syringe size is correct for my needs?
▼
3ml and 5ml (low dose) are ideal for administering small, precise volumes of medication, particularly for paediatric or neonatal care. 10ml and 20ml are the most common sizes for general medication flushes and smaller bolus feeds. 60ml enteral syringes are used for larger volume liquid feeds and general flushing of the feeding tube.
